Instead we are going to take a look at Veer’s latest infographic on the ever-rising importance of images in the modern world. Veer, which you might know as a service for imagery, illustrations and fonts, has put together a compact fact-sheet with the most important things you need to know, whether you are a designer or not. Unsurprising for an image provider, you say? Well, maybe, but nevertheless true.

2013 will see a new resource for web designers. ByPeople is going to bring you a market packed with icons, templates, PSDs, logos and lots more. ByPeople promises to deliver everything web-ninjas could ever need. To shorten the wait its creators decided to put up a large archive for free. The archive, containing hundreds of design elements, comes at a weight of around 700 MB to a desktop near you. All you need to do is get your hands at an app that's able to unpack a 7z-archive and tell ByPeople your mail address.

As 5oo designers had their say, the results may well be seen as at least not totally out of range. Still they are not representative for the industry as a whole. Better browser support has CSS experiments become more popular these days. My personal favorite up until today was Paperfold CSS. Of course we also saw Meny and some other more playful approaches. Makisu is a brand-new concept for dropdown navigation menus realized by the use of CSS 3D transforms. I have seldom seen such an impressing result. Sorry Paperfold CSS, I leave you for Makisu...


Endless Icons & Iconmonstr – Loads Of Free PNG-Icons And Growing Fast


  

There is a fresh repository in town and it deals with icons. We all know everybody loves icons. That's understandable as icons are necessary replacements or at least additions to traditional navigation concepts in the wake of the mobile era. Today we introduce to you a project by name of Endless Icons, created and maintained by web developer Min Kim, based in Orange County, as well as a slightly more established project from Germany. Alexander Kahlkopf has already gathered almost 900 symbols, while Endless Icons is still working towards its first 100 icons. Both projects are subject to continuous and steady growth.
